We have just bought some more fabric party buntings to coordinate with our range of partyware. We have a gorgeous green stripe and navy bunting that looks great with our Paper Eskimo blue star dream plates and cups and Paper Eskimo green baking cups - these would look really good at a boys 1st birthday party or even a themed boys dinosaur party.
We also have the new pink spot fabric bunting. This was made to coordinate with the Paper Eskimo lollipop pink party range as well as the Sambellina polka dot pink party range. It would not only look pretty at the party - but would also feature well in a girls bedroom.

Cupcake stands

We have just received some beautiful Robert Gordon cupcake stands in pink, red and blue polka dots.
They look stunning holding your cupcakes on a party table and coordinate very well with the Sambellina party products as well as the Paper Eskimo baking cups. We also wanted to post a vanilla cupcake recipe for the Mum's who like a home party.. a touch of vanilla frosting adds a delicious final touch!

110g unsalted butter, cut to small pieces and melted at room temperature
110g caster sugar
110g self raising flour, sifted
1/2 tsp baking powder, sifted
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Directions

1. Place all the ingredients in a medium bowl and beat with an electric whisk until smooth and pale (almost as light & fluffy like whipped cream), about 2-3 minutes.
2. Place baking cases in muffin tins. Spoon the mixture into the cases (about half filled).
3. Bake at preheated oven of 175C (350F) for about 20 minutes.
4. Remove the tins from oven and cool for 5 minutes, then remove the cupcakes (if you wish) and cool on a rack.
5. Cover each cupcake in icing and decorate for the party. Makes about 10 medium sized cupcakes

We are starting a special kids party blog all about party food ideas.. on Fridays.
We are going to launch with some great party biscuits that are super EASY to make.
These biscuits are a fantastic food idea for a Mermaid Party.

Mermaid party food - biscuits
-Frangipani biscuits-

1 packet milk arrowroot biscuits
Icing sugar – coloured to your choice
1 packet of marshmellows
1 packet of smarties/M&M’s

Method:

Place arrowroot biscuit upside down. With a knife apply coloured icing to the biscuit. Holding the marshmellow on its side - cut the marshmellow in half to make the petals, and place a smartie or M&M in the centre..they are so easy and look so pretty.These are presented on our Sambellina pink stripe plates.

Clown biscuits can also be made for a kids circus party.These biscuits are fun to display on the table with our red clown noses.

I decorated my Easter table with the Sambellina table ware this year. I chose the blue and white polka dot plates, and decorated with the blue and white polka dot runner, as well as the aqua blue party boxes and a piece of matching paper around the box.
The aqua blue and the white looked really pretty, and would work well with any celebration/party. It was especially fitting for Easter, but I also think it would work well for children - especially 1st birthday celebrations.

"The lovely Jacqui and Samantha at The Complete Kid's Party have given me the honour of writing a little piece for their blog! Thank you girls, it is my pleasure.

Today I'm talking about one of my best selling kid's party items, stocked by The Complete Kid's Party, my dinosaur range!

What child doesn't love learning about dinosaurs? I know my nearly 5 year old does and I myself have vivid memories of being chased around the school yard by one of the boys pretending to by a T-rex when I was just 6!
It's a theme that both boys and girls can enjoy and one that you can make slightly educational too! This is part of the reason why I chose to design my Dinosaur range with a real prehistoric feel as opposed to a creating a character. I also chose to do this so that my range appealed to a wider audience, from young children right the way through to adults! Cave man style!

GAMES and ACTIVITIES

There are some really great games and activities you can incorporate into this theme.
You could put an archeology spin on the party by supplying large paint brushes and having the children participate in a "dig" in a sandpit for "bones".

How about a treasure hunt, perhaps with a a trail of dinosaur foot prints?

There could be some dinosaur eggs as part of an egg and spoon race with the goal to try and get the eggs away from a volcano (could be a simple as a cardboard cutout) that is about to erupt!

Pin the horn on the triceratops as a dino twist on an old favourite!

Maybe the kids could colour in some ready printed dinosaur masks to make and wear? What about some dinosaur tails too!

Of course a bit of dinosaur dancing for musical statues would be great fun you don't get "out" your become "extinct" instead!

DECORATION

My range of dinosaur invites make carrying a theme throughout our party easy!
Shades of green with splashes of orange to make it pop!
Use these colours for balloons and decorations.

If you can, hold the party outside amongst lots of trees!
Or if you are inside create your own prehistoric jungle with lots of green streamers.
Wouldn't a canopy of green streamers be great to make the kids really feel like they are in the jungle! I really like to try and transform my party spaces to suit the theme, making it seem all that more magical for guests.

When it comes to your food table use green and orange cups, plates serviettes etc.
With the authentic feel of my invites maybe you could have "rocks" as seats!

FOOD

You can even carry this theme through to your food which is something I always like to do. Orange twisties or cheezles, green jelly, dinosaur shaped cookies (you can get cookie cutters that match the dinosaurs on my invite!), candy coated chocolate eggs - as dinosaur eggs - any other orange or green lollies.

THANK YOU TAGS and FAVOURS

When it's time for your guest to leave, continue the theme with what's in their gift/favour bag. The Complete Kid's Party have some wonderful dinosaur stamps and tattoos that would be perfect to slip in along with a selection of lollies from the above list. How about a mini magnifying glass for more archeological digs and even a small dinosaur novelty! Then to carry the theme right through to when you guests take these packs home, attach one of my matching thank you tags, also available at The Complete Kids Party. These can totally jazz up a simple party bag and guests have the added bonus of being able to use them after the party as they make perfect bookmarks!

Magic party ideas

Alex's magic party - was a great success! Magic partyware was from Paper Eskimo including Magic Wizard Invitations and the Star dream plates and cups, with the Magic Wizard napkins and blue spot table runner.

A clever concept for the magic party day was to place black top hats (in plastic) around with chips and munchies for the kids to snack on whilst being entertained by the Magician.

The kids loved the magician and He was great at teaching the children some new tricks..

Sam made the cake which was a wizards hat...easy to make and cut from a rectangular shaped tin..coloured with a light blue icing with silver star cutouts to complete the Magical look.

The party bags were the dark blue coloured party bags with handles.
The bags included the magic coin trick, a rubiks cube and a bendy bencil, with lollies and a DVD from the magician showing his tricks! Sam decorated the bags with a magician image on the front and they looked great.

The Sports Party

It is soccer time....GO The Soccerooos!!! Why not have a soccer party?

With the cooler weather upon us it is great to hold a sport party for boys. Some of them might be into soccer and we have a great range of soccer ideas. We also have sport ball note pad party favours and soccer whistles to send home and a baseball game to play. Below are some ideas for some games at sports parties...

Relay Races
Having worked out what type of relays to have, let the kid’s form two/three teams and race against each other.
These may include holding a batton/stick/ball to pass on to the next boy.
Make the relays fun with rolling, crawling, skipping (if they can!) as well as running, walking, tip toeing.

Tug Of War
Have a long rope, with two equal teams holding either side.
Mark a line in the middle and one team pulls the other over the line.

Obstacle Course
Prepare an area for the boys/girls to run around trees, jump on the trampoline, swings, roll,waddle etc, and use a stop watch to compare times. Trophies are given out for winners or for the children who try the hardest, whatever you decide. If the Sports party is themed towards a specific game ie Rugby League, AFL , Soccer etc, use these balls in the obstacle course.

We have recently teamed up with the Northern Beaches Rockhouse. We are supplying all the coloured party boxes for the rock climbing parties held there. For these types of sport parties we have carabina key chains and bouncy balls and lollies to take home. The carabinas are a popular favour to hook onto the school bags.

Princess party ideas

Instead of buying wands..have your princesses create them!
We have had feedback from princess parties that the girls still use these wands for weeks!
A little girl loves decorating her own fairy wand. It is easy and mess free as there is no need for glue.
You could give a simple demonstration to the children (depending on their age) on how they might want to decorate their wand. Put the straws, stars, ribbons and adhesives in separate bowls so it is easy for the children to get to. The supervising parent might need to tie the ribbon for them.
The children can use the alphabet heart adhesives to put their name on the wand.
Remember to put the finished wand with the child’s loot bag to take home.

Some fun Pirate party ideas for birthday food and cake -

Try some blue jelly in bowls with Choc Coins
Chocolate eggs - any left from Easter!
Shark’s blood drinks (Red Cordial)
Pirate birthday treasure chest cake. Make the cake in the shape of a square/loaf and use it as a Treasure chest, hollowed out and filled with lollies pouring out of it - include smarties, gold coins, freckles etc.
We have available at The Complete Kids Party some great pirate treasure boxes that can be filled to send home with some pirate party favours. They can also be placed on the table for decoration with gold coins.
